My First ever blog Post on Modelling
Hey Everyone this is my first post on my concerns on modelling as i am a sixth form student at the secondary second i went to and i am concerned over the welfare of young girls and women everywhere who want to be size zero or who thinks it an ideal size let me give you some advice ITS NOT OK.
Everyday round the school i hear Young girls the age of possibly 13-14 years of age saying i am Fat i need to lose weight and they are just skin and bones also it doesn't help as most celebrities are stick thin and young people look up to them as role models and say i just want to be like them.
My concern is over people becoming anorexic just trying to being like their favourite celebrities and they end up looking like size zero models instead which is just wrong and i think size zero models should be banned. the ideal size for a catwalk model should be everday sizes from 8-16 which is acceptable but anything under 8 is not acceptable as it is a bad influence on today society.
The images on this post is to make everyone aware of what is happening to the modelling world so if these images upset anyone in anyway i am sorry....
I DO NOT OWN THESE PHOTOS !! As You can see from the picture on the left this is what you call SIZE ZERO models which in my opinion i think this is wrong and yet if i saw this walking down the catwalk it would put me off buying the designers clothes and yet again makes me feel physically sick and emotional because most girls want to be skinny and this is just going too far and more to the point do these models ever look Happy.!!!
Here are some views from the Public:
Rachel, 17yrs old, Says: it's disgusting how people can get down to that level they are really bad role models for people who want to become models and for people such as young teenagers
Heather, 17yrs old Says : it's really off putting and it's trying to say to people size zero is okay but zero is not a size.
Sophy, 14yrs old Says: I think Zero models are a bad influence on young girls as it leads to illness.
Sundeep,14 yrs old Says: I think it's Disgusting.
Looking at the image above some of these models are size 12-14 models and this was at london fashion week where the designer decided to use slightly bigger women than usual and it cause upset to other designers and people who visit the show. i think it is wrong to use under size 8 models as it is a bad influence on young women, teenagers and children everwhere.
I think Fashion Designers should have more than size zero models in mind and spare a thought for people who are generally bigger and i think fashion week and fashion designers shouls use size 12-14 models in their work as it is more realistic as hardly anyone in todays world is a size zero and these designers who bring out their designs small sizes will make these women want to slim down to fit in them which is not acceptable and they shouldn't have to.
My Opinion is i think size zero models should be banned it's a bad influence and just wrong and digusting as i have always wanted to do modelling but always been turned down because i am not skin and bones but this is just my opinion i would like to know what all of you out there think about size zero and wether its okay or not.
